			Canakkale has hosted many civilizations since the most ancient 
			times. Because of its strategic importance it was targeted to invade

			Gallipoli: 
			Gelibolu is the name of a town and a district of Çanakkale Province, 
			Turkey, located on the Gallipoli peninsula in the European part of 
			Turkey. Its modern Turkish name is Gelibolu.
			
			
			Yenice: 
			Yenice was a village in Balıkesir until 1936. After this date it was 
			bound to Çanakkale. Although it was bound to Çanakkale, it has more 
			intense relationship with Balıkesir.
			
			
			Lapseki: 
			Occupied at the end of World War I, the town was freed from the 
			British and French forces on 25 September 1922 as a result of the 
			unity and solidarity of the people of Lapseki, toward the end of the 
			War of Independence. In the district are the graves of 15,000 
			soldiers who lost their lives during the War of Independence.
			
			
			Gokceada: 
			Imbros, called as Gokceada in Turkey (old name in Turkish: Imroz), 
			is the largest island of Turkey, part of Çanakkale Province.
			
			
			Eceabat: 
			Eceabat is a district of Canakkale province and places in gallipoli 
			peninsula. The old name of the district is Maydos. Dardanelles war 
			placed in limitations of Ecabat. The town is famous with monumental 
			Ottoman castles.
			
			
			Bozcaada: 
			Bozcaada is a small island in the north Aegean, a district of 
			Çanakkale province. The third biggest island in Turkey.The 
			settlements are clustered around the town centre, in the north east 
			of the island.
