TOUR DETAILS:
DAY 1- Depart for Istanbul
Arrive Istanbul, transfer to your hotel. Depending on
your flight: dinner and overnight at the hotel or in the
afternoon visit the Old City Walls of Istanbul. Return
to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2- Istanbul Sightseeing
After breakfast at the hotel, visit Suleymaniye Mosque,
and the Blue Mosque. Later visit Hagia Sophia,
originally a church and now a mosque, and the Byzantine
Hippodrome and Topkapi Palace, the great palace of the
Ottoman Sultans. Also see the Egyptian Spice Market - an
old traditional market.
DAY 3- Istanbul to Canakkale
Drive along the sea of Marmara to the Gallipoli
Peninsula, where so many Australians, New Zealanders and
Allied Troops lost their lives in World War I. See Anzac
Cove and visit Lone Pine Cemetery. Then cross the
Dardanelles waterway by ferryboat to Canakkale.
DAY 4- Canakkale to Kusadasi
Visit the ruins of Troy and continue for the visit of
ancient Pergamum, once a powerful city and the ruler of
Asia Minor, continue to Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight
in Kusadasi.
DAY 5- Kusadasi to Pamukkale
After breakfast, depart for St. Mary's House. Then drive
to Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient cities in
the world, continue onto Pamukkale for overnight stay.
Enjoy a leisurely bath in the hotel’s mineral spa bath.
DAY 6- Pamukkale to Antalya
Start the day by visiting Pamukkale, the ‘cotton
castle’. This amazing landscape was formed by the
limestone laden water of the thermal springs. Later,
visit the ruins of the ancient city, Hierapolis – a
Roman health spa before continuing onto Antalya.
DAY 7- Antalya
Start the full day excursion to Perge, Side and Aspendos.
DAY 8- Antalya to Cappadocia
Through the Taurus Mountains, reach Konya - and visit
the Convent of the Whirling Dervishes - before heading
for Cappadocia.
DAY 9- Cappadocia Sightseeing
After breakfast at the hotel, start the sightseeing of
Cappadocia. Visit Goreme, with its rock chapels and
Byzantine frescoes, and the underground city of Kaymakli.
Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.
DAY 10- Cappadocia to Ankara
After breakfast, depart for Ankara, the capital of the
Turkish Republic. On route, visit the 13th century
Seljuk Caravanserai of Agzikarahan. Upon arrival in
Ankara, visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the father of
modern Turkey. Then continue to Museum of Anatolian
Civilizations before driving for the hotel.
DAY 11- Ankara to Istanbul
Depart for Istanbul and arrive early afternoon. Visit
the Grand Bazaar and to shop in this ancient market
place. In the evening join the Turkish night.
DAY 12- Depart Istanbul
Transfer to airport for the flight home.
